Dkids 2024

the program
The Dkids Camp will follow the Dkids Foundation Quality of Life program model, and will be a brand new opportunity for T1D kids to be themselves.
Set to take place from Monday, August 26 to Friday, August 30, 2024, the 2024 Dkids Camp will be a 5-day overnight sports and diabetes camp for T1Ds between the ages of 8-21, focusing on diabetes management, education, awareness, support and sports.
Designed to bring together passionate coaches, educators, medical professionals and difference-makers who thrive on working hard, building friendships and, most of all, having fun; Dkids camps are all about getting the most out of each day while working to make tomorrow even better.
The goal is to create an incredible environment where everyone can thrive, learn from one another and grow their potential.
From Certified Diabetes Educators to a variety of sports coaches & instructors, to the participants and their parents, the design of a Dkids Quality of Life Program is meant to touch all involved and, through one program, leave a lasting impact that can change the lives of all those who participate.

Each program will be hosted at a quality venue that matches the needs of the program and will accommodate our staff and participants.
Liability insurance covers each program insuring all participants are more than taken care of in case of an injury or other situation.
The most important investment we make is in the quality of our staff. We believe in people power which is why have between 40-50 staff members per program.
Eating right isn't just for managing your diabetes, but also a key in helping you become a better athlete.
Integrated diabetes and nutrition education, care and support are provided throughout the program, including during activities.
Program equipment, participant merchandise, photography, marketing and other elements round out the program.
If you are interested in supporting a Dkids camp, please consider donating. If you would like to make a larger contribution, please contact us.

“My diabetes is my 24\7 constant companion. And like anyone who suffers from type 1 diabetes or any other lifelong disease, I never get a day off. But as difficult as my diagnosis has made many things in my life, it's never stopped me from chasing my dream. Every day brings with it a new test and a new opportunity.”
